CASE EXAMPLES

“Client” hires contractor for an extensive remodel of his home.   After several disagreements the contractor walks off the job and leaves client with a demolished section of his home and the expense of hiring another contractor to complete the project.  
Action:  We filed suit against the contractor and won a judgment of over $150,000 for the home owner. 

“Client” comes to Stark the week before his home is to be sold at a foreclosure “sheriff sale”  We assemble the information and file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy.  The Sale is stopped and we work out a payment with the bank and are able to get out of the bankruptcy early.

“Client” is ticketed for a violation of a municipal ordinance during a festival.
Action:   After several court hearings and the issuance of multiple subpoenas for testimony the Municipal Prosecutor dismissed the case resulting in no fines and no court costs to the client.

“Client” applies for a loan and discovers that a phone bill from an apartment he had several years ago appears as a delinquency on his credit report.  Client provides proof that he paid the bill but the phone company refuses to remove the delinquency from the credit report.
Action:  We filed suit against the phone company and the credit reporting agency and recovered almost 10 times the phone bill plus attorney fees for the client.

“Client”  trades in a car and enters into a buy here pay here agreement for another used car.  After 2 months Car Dealer demands additional monthly payments.  Client refuses and Car Dealer repossesses the car.
Action:  We filed suit against the car dealer for violations of the federal truth-in-lending act and Ohio consumer protection violations and recovered a judgment of more than $100,000 for the client. 

“Client” buys a car from a Huge  Dealer, Dealer approves financing on the spot.  After three months the dealer claims that the final approval was not secured and demands the return of the car. 
Action:  after extensive discovery of the dealers records we learned that the dealer did not have the authority to transfer the car because of a defective title.   Client was able to keep the car with the previous financing deal in place.

“Client” obtains a judgment from an out of state supplier of services.  After the judgment is final the supplier files for bankruptcy seeking to get out of paying the debt.
Action:  We filed suit in the Bankruptcy Court and proved that the supplier engaged in fraud and therefore the debt was not allowed to be wiped out in Bankruptcy.  The Client was able to recover from the Supplier.

“Client”  charged with felony theft by a former employer,  Action:  used the information contained in the employers files and past conduct to show that the charges were in retaliation for the employee filing a claim against the employer.  Charges against client dismissed!
